House Parents
Sunridge Ranch III is seeking responsible, caring, married or committed couples to job share as houseparents for four young men who reside in this home. Our home is new so we are currently establishing routines and getting our guys settled in.
Sunridge Ranch is located just outside the quaint college town of Ellensburg two hours east of Seattle. Unlike Seattle, the climate is semi-arid with low rainfall and four distinct seasons. Outdoor recreation opportunities are abundant- skiing, snowboarding, alpine hiking, and fly fishing to name a few. The ranch home is specifically designed to promote independent living for four young men with developmental disabilities and utilizes various smart-home technologies designed to support this population.
The care philosophy of Sunridge encourages positive reinforcement with respect to each Resident. Our House Parents are responsible for overseeing the Residents’ established daily routines and caring for the home. We strive to integrate all the typical daily opportunities experienced by individuals into a unifying whole, so that these young men’s lives are truly as rich and fulfilling as possible.
Position Compensation starting at:

Hourly starting wage equivalent to approximately $48,00.00 per year, per couple.

Regular wage increases based on hours worked along with a comprehensive benefit package including high-quality health insurance, PTO, etc.

Housing and meals are provided while working as well as a house SUV to drive are provided when on-duty

Housing in a lovely new view home is provided while you are off-duty.

The Sunridge Ranch was built specifically to accommodate four disabled young men and the houseparents. The Ranch is constructed on 11 acres and features expansive living spaces with soaring ceilings, a mix of beautiful wood/carpet/tile floors. The private House Parent master suite has a walk-in closet, office area and large bathroom. The Resident owners’ all have separate bedrooms with ensuite baths. The chef’s kitchen offers granite counters, 2 dishwashers, double ovens and a 5 burner cook-top. The media / theater room is spacious and comfortable for the Resident owners and their guests. Sited on the Badger Pocket hillside, the views abound. Wraparound decks, a BBQ and huge patio areas enhance the outdoor living experience.
Work Schedule:

House Parents operate on a “7 days on duty and 7 days off duty” rotation. We are also open to a 2 week on/2 week off rotation if both couples prefer that.

During their days on duty, the House Parents will reside in the master suite in the main house. The main bedroom is “flipped” like a hotel room between rotating couples.
Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent; experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred, but not required. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must pass a background check and fingerprint check through DSHS and complete the training requirements necessary for certification as a Washington State Individual Care Provider (IP). Each House Parent will complete 75 hours of paid training to meet the requirements.

A position at Sunridge Ranch will be contingent upon this certification and the results of a Washington State background check.

Caregivers need to be physically and mentally capable of implementing each Residents’ care plan which can include daily medications, personal hygiene care, behavioral support, meal planning and cooking, housework, light yard maintenance, etc.

Must be reliable, flexible, and passionate about enriching the lives of those with developmental disabilities and have the ability to work in a team environment.
